For everyone that knew that I had a 3 hour glucose test last Friday, my results came back yesterday....I have Gestational Diabetes. I'm still trying to see thru all the fog in my head right now so I'm not exactly thinking clearly about everything.
I don't even know much at this point, I have to meet with a Diabetic Counselor on Friday to get the low down on what my diet will be and how to use the meter. I do know that I'll be testing my blood glucose levels 4 TIMES a day, keeping a log of the results and calling them in to my Dr's office on Mondays and Thursdays. Ugh...............
I'll be testing right when I wake up (the fasting test), and 2hrs after breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have to keep my numbers for the fasting test below 90 and the other 3 levels for the day below 120. If I don't do that...I get to go on some sort of medication (hopefully oral) to regulate things. Lucky me.
What a time to find this out.........a week before Thanksgiving and all thru Christmas....great timing!
Anyway....things will find a way to work themselves out. I just hope that I don't faint every time I have to poke my finger :( I'm not one for blood, needles, or anything that gives me any pain whatsoever!

I'm so sorry, Jami. I know how that goes. No fun...ESPECIALLY at this time of year!
Let me know if you have any questions about it...I have the experience and lots of resources for pregnancy related stuff these days.
I know walking, walking, walking was the main thing for me. Ugh. I'll be praying for you, okay!
BUMMER! I'm so sorry! Dang babies ruin our bodies - but they're worth every bit of it! Take care - can't wait to see you guys! Love you - Jill
Hi Jami-
Thanks for forewarding me the info on your blog. We havn't had internet for over a year and I'm getting back in the routine of checking my e-mails. I'm definately not a great pen-pal, but it's a goal to get better at.
I'm so sorry about the ges. diabetes. How frustrating. I will be praying that all the info will not be so overwhelming, and that your sugar levels will stay within range.
We all can't wait to spend some time with you guys. Love you - Nicole
Hey sissy- well, love the site, hate the news. I just know you'll do great with it- you'll do everything perfectly just like ya did with Jackaroo! I love you and can't wait to see you next month- I'll bring the sugar free, starch free pie!! Kiss, Kiss!

What the ...? I thought you said you weren't good with computer stuff. This looks great! Sorry to hear about the diabetes. It runs in my family, and they all have to do the prick the finger thing. It sounds like you have lots of advice, so you'll do great.
Great blog! Sorry about the gb, we'll pray for strength and health. If you think of it, my Dad could use some prayer. He's hospitalized with heart problems, complicated by adult onset diabetes. We’re going to visit my folks for Thanksgiving, and won’t be there Sunday. See you at small group. - Mark
Hey Jami! So sorry to hear about the bad news. What a stinky time of year to find out. I will be praying for you! Can't wait to see you guys next week. Love ya lots.

I am so sorry to hear that you have to go through all that. I am getting ready to go through my test right after Thanksgiving. I will definitely keep you in my prayers. By the way I didn't know you were having another baby. Congratulations. Take Care!
We are such a hip, net-savy family. I love it!
Boo on diabetes!
But yay new baby!!
Can't wait to see you all next week . . . toodles!
